On the eve of 2023, I'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year!   This being the second year of retirement for me, I was able to get my kayak groove on pretty well and had the best fishing year of my life...and I've been at it for a while!  112 days on the water chasing salmon, halibut, crabs, rockfish and a few others.  I learned so much this year, much of that from the posse of guys I got to spend a lot of time on the water with that I met here. I did not get my December halibut that I was trying for, but January still awaits as the ONLY month I have not taken a halibut ever from the bay!!

Cheers!

Hi John
Hopefully, I will follow in your footsteps soon, within the next couple of years.  112 days might be hard to beat.
I am sure you will get a halibut next month.

Happy New Year.

Happy New Year.

Looks like retirement has been very good to you.

I am very close to retirement as well. My work is very flexible where i can work two to three days a week. :smt001  Which i hope equates to more time on the water.

On the water 112 days and gaffing salmon? I don't think it can get any better than that...
