I came across V.I.P. Silicone Water-Guard Water Repellent at Walmart that's well priced. Since I own numerous outerwear clothing that are no longer truly water repellent. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a water repellent spray product.

First I washed your outerwear with a technical fabric cleaner like Nikwax Techwash for around $10. Instead of using Nikwax Nikwax TX.Direct Spray-On that costs around $23 for 17 fl oz.

I used this instead: https://www.walmart.com/ip/V-I-P-Silicone-Water-Guard-Water-Repellent-13-13-Ounces/52130847?athbdg=L1100

Works just as good as more expensive products out there.

This silicon spray has been working great. I have an old NorthFace rain jacket that was absorbing water. After 1 spray with this stuff water is bouncing off.

Alan, yes I've applied to my 5 or 6 yr old Goretex drsuit. It works pretty well on it. I may put an extra coat. The cordura areas does not bead off water but I didnt find any leaks on last trip.

Just got a good deal on a Rapala rain coat and have been enjoying walks in the rain with it.  Oddly the pockets are a different material and are for some reason not water proof.  :smt013 Wondering if I can use this spray on fabric that isn't water proof by design, will it still help repel water?
