Salmon and lingcod on same trip: Barbless question

I understand that we have to use barbless hooks for salmon. My question is: Can we have barbed hooks onboard as well?

Say I'm going out for Salmon and Lingcod on the same trip and would prefer to use my usual barbed lures for the ling -- is it OK to have them with me when I'm fishing for salmon (with barbless)?

Totally fine to have barbed hooks on board.

But once you have salmon in possession, you can no longer fish with barbs, even if you are "fishing for lingcod".

Yes, you can have barbed hook onboard while you are fishing for salmon. As you know, you have to use barbless hook to target salmon and once you have salmon onboard you have to follow salmon restriction regardless of what species you are targeting.
