Soooo I last went fishing 10 days ago. I went out to the garage today and noticed my bait bag was still in my kayak, which was a bad sign. Thank GOD the bait I left in it was a full pack of sealed herring because here’s what it became after sitting in a hot garage for 10 days… check out that bacteria bloat and fish slurry! I’m curious if it would actually explode if I left it alone 🤮🤮

I wasn't as lucky bc my kayak smells like a dead body every time I walk by it. I left the hatch opened for about a week now and still stinky  :sad3:

just set it in a closet until November - that'll make great crab bait!   :smt003

That was a very close call!  Good thing you sealed it!  I missed an anchovie in my bait bucket from Saturday and just discovered it by smell yesterday.  :puke:

Nice flotation device. Unfortunately that is one of the older models that requires temperature monitored too frequently. :smt011  :smt005

When i was like 18 i forgot about a box of squid in the back of my Corolla. Think it was probably 4-5 days later when i couldn't stand the smell in the car (lived in the Sunset in SF)...when i opened the trunk i nearly puked.
in the end i had to throw away all the carpeting in there, and bleach everything multiple times to get the smell under control.
it never really went away
