LM today at low tide. Took some pics to help folks understand how many rocks there are. I’ve had my share of walking on them with my kayak, and scars (thankfully on the kayak; not me). I think the water was about 5.5ft below the high mark.

LM always: close to fishing grounds and easier to cart.
Just need to be mindful of rocks.

I’ve always launched at Rockaway and found it easy. Maybe try Linda mar next time

I did that launch on Monday with the lowest tide and had to drag myself and a my loaded Revo over those rocks; luckily this time I didn’t lose or break anything. Would I do it again? Only with a light kayak that I can balance on my head.

LM is a Goldilocks launch. If the tide is too high there's no beach and if it's too low your dragging your yak through the pumpkin patch. The tide has to be just right. You also have to contend with the surfers when you land. I would rather launch at Rockaway and pedal a bit more if I want to go to Pedro.

There’s a clear strip there right up against the rocks at the bottom of the beach The local skiff guys use it like a runway approach. Almost looks like somebody dynamited it but probably just has to do with sand getting deposited by the rips

If you end up in the water over the rock patch flatten out horizontally and try to enjoy it

Pancake and stay shallow like they do surfing over reefs in Hawaii
