What’s up guys. Names Cameron. Been stationed up here in North Carolina for around 6 months now. I did a lot of kayak fishing back home in Texas. Mostly shark fishing in the gulf. Excited to try and get back into it here this summer. I’d love to talk to any of you guys that are experienced in kayaking the beaches here.

I figured the same, but don't wanna scare away the new guy  :smt044  But yeah, NC in our case stands for NOR-CAL like in the Ling Logo in the top.  Either way welcome, there is a lot of information here and people willing to share.

Welcome anyway Cameron! If you want to drop back by sometime to tell us about sight-fishing for tailing redfish I, for one, would welcome it.

You don't have to live in NorCal to partake in this forum, we all speak the universal language of fishtalk. Howdy from Austin  :smt006

Not sure how the fishing is here yet. Haven’t been able to get into it yet. The culture here is a lot different than I’m used to. In Texas you back your truck right up to the ocean and kayak out at sunrise. Then by mid day you’re back grilling and drinking beer on the beach. Here you can’t drive on 90% beaches, also can’t have alcohol or grill. Going to make those skunk days hurt a lot worse.

oh Crap, thought NC was nicer than that. Yah, Texas was nice, lived outside of Houston for a number of years, two of my kids are Texans.  I do miss the beaches there.
in Cali, we can't drive on many beaches, but we can grill on all of them, and generally drinks as long as you don't get too carried away.
