I am almost done with my kayak trailer.
I watched Craigslist for a while and this free boat trailer came up last winter. Been slowly getting around to it. I shortened the tongue an installed a new coupler. Added new lighting. I am using 3” pvc that scored for free as well. The bunks are only mounted at each end to let them sag and conform to the shape of the hull. Still letting the kayaks sit in the bunks for a few days before attaching the rear of the bunks to allow them to sag a bit more.  The bottom bunks aren’t attached yet. Will get to them tonight.

Very nice.  There's enough room for a utility box in front of the trailer for kayak gears  :smt002

The plan is for a box to keep paddles, life jackets and a pedal drive.

Here’s my new to me trailer  :smt002 I built the rack and lowered the rails for Heroes On the Water North Oregon Coast chapter a few years back….. they upgraded to an enclosed and my father in law bought it so I could haul all my boats and his. That’s at our last HOW event. He’s a double amputee vet, we’re putting together a trolling motor for him.

Nice. Good to see folks giving back.
The 2 13’ kayaks are a bit much for the back of my 5.5’ truck bed. When the wife and daughter come along at the lakes it is a pain to get them all in there. Plus I needed better storage  for them. This should keep them happy long term.
