Hi,
I wanted to test my new lithium battery on my trolling motor.  After two hour with no hits, I was contemplating writing my fishing report.  The reservoir is full and the water is a little stained for good trolling.  I did see people catch trout with bait then ZZzzzzzzzzzzzz.  This was no snag.  It was a behemoth trout.   Every time it came to the surface and saw my ugly face, it would shake its head then take line.  After 7 or 8 runs I was able to net the fish.  That was the only hit for me after three hours of trolling with a rapala on 4lb test.

Hey MarkZ,
Congratulations on the very nice trout.    When I was a kid my Dad would be persistent when there was no bite whatsoever.   Being young I wanted to move to a new spot after a couple hours, but had to endure my Dad's tenacity.   Sure enough he would eventually tie into a big one that was exciting to see.  Sometimes he would get bites when I didn't.    As for me, well my patience is better these days but I've found that enjoying the trip even without getting a bite all day is good enough sometimes.  But yeah... the thrill of seeing the pole jerk keeps me going and hearing the drag squeal with line stripping off the spool is like no other!

Fire tiger rapala

Didn’t weigh the trout but the person at kiosk said that fish was bigger than the 9lber someone had just brought into the boat ramp
