Hey everyone,

Recently made purchase of a 18ft Bayrunner, would never have considered buying a boat, but the price was right and so I pulled the trigger.

My question is if anyone knows a trusted outboard mechanic to work on this somewhat older motor.  Just liking for a full tune up (particularly carbs cfully cleaned) and someone I can take it to for any maintenance related issues. I’ve called around the Sant Cruz area and seems like everyone either doesn’t get back, or only really works on specific models (mostly newer and Yamaha or honda, Tahatsu, etc…).

I’m willing to travel for a good mechanic as the boats on a trailer.

Thanks for any help.

It’s a 96 Mariner 4cycle 2 stroke. Has the oil injection. I’d try and do a tune up myself, but unfortunately with a new born a 2-3 day project turns into a 2-3 month project. Just need the convenience of dropping it off and picking it up ready to go.

…a 2-3 day project turns into a 2-3 month project.

That sounds like most of my projects, but I don’t have any good excuses…

I'd be happy with 2-3 months, I'm more of a 2-3 years kinda guy  :smt003
