Spent the night at Mendo and fished for catfish at Crappie Cove. I started fishing at 9:00 PM. I hooked a nice fish on the first cast as soon as it hit the water! I was flylining gobs of chicken liver. It started out hot and heavy and slowed as I got sleepy. I pulled all the lines in at 11:30 PM and slept. I slept like a baby.
Beautiful night, fullish moon which was eclipsed later in the night. So cool... lucky I looked, I didn't know this was going to happen. It just seemed strange when everything went dark.
I looked for the stripers in the morning and they pulled a no-show.
I fished out of my pram as my yak doesn't have the room to transport my sleeping pads.
I kept the two best fish, a 3lbs and a beautiful 30 incher.
The only downer was the spot on the shoreline was very goopy and muddy. I need to find a better shore, or just stay in the boat.
Mmmmm, fried kitty tonight!
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Cool! Andy and I were out Sunday night. The only fish I landed was a 2 pound bass from a stinky anchovy.

Was the fanboat guy out Monday night? He was out Sunday night. What a racket!

CHEERS!

Nice One Juan! That's the way i hunt them too(shore only) the wieght of the "whole liver" on a big'ol hook is good enough to get to the bottom, if the wind not blowing too hard.  i've only dreamed of finding a kitty-hole. Did you crash in the cove?
thanks for the report w/o pics :smt012

Budah Joel! when I hear the name Mooch, I think of the nicest, most willingest to share person that helps out with what is important to him....not the fact that Freddie came up with what came to his mind at the time.
...so it's like a complete "opposite" of what you really are and do!
so does that mean I have to start calling you *Joel? now....that's gonna be wierd.
