Hi, my name is Dave - Living in Stockton and new to the group.  Fished all my life and looking into expanding into some lake and ocean kayak fishing.  Doing some research and looking at the Old Town pdl’s and the hobie 360’s even though it looks like nothing new is available right now.  Any advice on a first time kayak appreciated.

Here’s a pic of a salmon I caught a few years ago on an Alaska trip.  The halibut fishing was pretty amazing, too.

Welcome aboard Dave. I'd suggest renting out kayaks first and see what best fit your needs. Tight lines!

Welcome and +1 to Pernell's suggestion. Especially to figure out the size you want. The PA and bigger PDL may not be the best choice if you're planning to do any surf or beach launches. There's a ton of information from old posts that you can find by searching if you haven't already.

Good points.  I do want to able to launch from shore.  I’ve been checking out the posts and looking at some videos.  There is a lot of cool stuff out there.  Thanks for the advice!

Saw this on Craigslist, not mine nor am I affiliated with it in any way with this, but may be a good deal for someone who wants to buy a loaded outback on the cheap.  I don’t think I have enough posts to add this to the classifieds but wanted to spread the word.
