Howdy, :smt006 WTTMaddness and all that stuff

I feel like I'm just starting myself, but the best thing would be to keep a eye on the " Hook Ups " and

come on out....  Monterey this weekend with the tournament would be a good bet, easy launch and

plenty of NCKA faithful on the water.....and don't even start with the " Newbie Mojo!!! "

Keep in mind though,  you need to be accountable for yourself and know your limitations,

VHF radio, pfd ect...   Many of these fishing reports make this look easy,  it can be...

and then it can be your worst nightmare, the Big Blue does not give many 2nd chances....

I live close to ya, in El Sob,  Catch ya soon... WTTM..... :smt003 .......... Danglin

Half Moon Bay is another easy place to launch.  No beach launching or re-entry to worry about.  Do go with some guys who have some experience with saltwater.  Also, a wetsuit is a given.

Alameda Rock wall is an easy launch and paddle. Simple place to acclimate ones self to this sport and generally good fishing for halibut. Also the old Berkeley pier is another fine place for the Hali's. Hookup with others who have some experience because when the wind kicks ups these area's can be a challenge for a newbie.Better safe then sorry. Loving this sport Frankfishing

Forget about fishing - get to know your kayak before heading out to the big blue. Hit a lake and practice self rescue and learn to paddle properly. Even better, take a class on the basics - which includes surf launching and landing. Call any kayak retailer and they will provide you with info. on classes.

When you're ready for the big blue, hire a kayak fishing guide (Scallen / Allen Bushnell) or hook-up with a veteran. Always fish with the "Buddy System"

Be a kayaker first and a fisherman second = one of NCKA's mottos  :smt002

Good luck and Welcome to the Madness!!

I only know that Mooch is ALWAYS right cuz he will tell/show you how he "USED TO" do things til he learned from others or by experience that there is a better/easier/more-efficient way to approach it. I speak from my personal "HANDS-ON" experiences with the "AMBASSADOR" and he always was right!   pm "ME"! NOT!
