Another beautiful day at the Fort. Launched at 0700, super calm conditions, easy launch. Headed North and fished rock edges in about 100’.  Worked the big pitbull swim bait for the first hour or so, no takers.  Switched to shrimp flies and started loading up on rockfish.  Got a nice limit (browns, canaries and blacks).  Caught some smelt on the sabiki rig, dropped one down, fish on!  Caught 3 Ling keeping a 29” and 24”.  Lots of yaks on the water which was fun, looked like everyone was catching pretty good.  My fishing partner had a solid limit of Rockfish including a big Vern, plus got his two ling keepers too.  Off the water before noon.  Good times.

I was at Fort Ross the following day(9/5).  Perfect conditions.  Stayed overcast most of the day.  Lots of bait fish in the water.  No luck on the swimbaits, but the shrimp flies kept me busy.  Had double hookups with small rockfish on several occasions while dropping through the bait balls.  This was my first time at Fort Ross.  Not sure if it was the holiday weekend or if it's normal, but there were 20+ kayaks on the water.  Took a while waiting in line to get my truck to the loading area.  Ended up with an easy limit of fillet worthy fish for the fridge.

Thanks guys for the Fort Report!  :smt003  Been a long time since I've been up that way... Thinking a end of season run might be in order.
