Lake Chabot, bass, 8/19

Got on the water at the crack of 11:30am.  Pleasantly surprised to see the water level is only a few feet below the spillway.  Big crowds on land... hardly anyone on the water.  Met one yakfisher ("Pete"?) at the boat ramp who said it was slow.   I started fishing a Yamamoto 5" creature on a 1/2 oz. head but broke that off on a snag... switched to a Berkeley 3" Sabertail (awsome action!) in baby bass color on a 3/8 oz. head, fishing on the outside of the weedbeds in about 12 to 20 feet of water and pulled up a few 1 to 1.5 pounders...

Beats working!

  Cool, I was under the impression that to get on the water there you had to rent one of their boats.  Somewhere, back when I float tubed, I wanted to try the lake but someone mentioned "only way on the water was to rent their stuff" so I never gone.  It's nice to hear for a change that thats not true, and that "someone " was wrong!  Oh well
