For those who kayak between sunset and sunrise or have a kayak over 16' or have a motor... this strobe would count as one of your 3 visual distress signals.  $20, low maintenance, water activated.  Solid choice for a visual distress signal.  Note that a strobe is a night-only visual distress signal, so ensure you have your daytime needs met if applicable.
