sounds fun, I've been wanting to try that as well.  A kayaking friend says the weeds begin to choke the area out in summer - so enjoy it while you can

The CRP is one of my favorite places for a relaxing paddle. Been going there for many years.  I've never really found the fishing to be all that great there. Maybe I never found the right spot.
As mentioned above, the water hyacinth gets very thick in the summer.

I caught my one and only shellcracker there.  Love that waterway, have had some awesome days there fishing.  Been going there for about 20 or so years.
