anyone else crack their Hobie rudder control handle?

I was out on Jackson Lake in Grand Teton about two miles from my put in and the lever had a lot of play.  Looked down and there was a really nice crack.  Easy fix but it would suck to have it beak in the middle of nowhere

Mine has had a fine crack in it, but I'm not too worried about it. I've already chipped off the plastic ends for the rudder stow and deploy lines, and numerous other facets I consider mostly "aesthetic". Then again, that's on my beat up hobie and I probably wouldn't tolerate the same wear and tear on my new one. For mine, the handle itself is aesthetic and the crack doesn't have give or affect steering whatsoever.

After reading though, I'm starting to worry a little more.
