I ended up grabbing a tarpon 160 off craigslist on a whim. Took it on the american to test out and practice self rescue… i have never paddled a fast boat so i cant really compare it to anything but i must say im impressed. Loving it actually!

I still have a first generation t160, which is one of the better plastic hull designs and on the faster side. At some point since, they designed out the aft internal stow space, mistake IMO. Was going to sell it a couple of years back but glad I didn’t in case I can get out for salmon again

I also have a stealth 575 which is much lighter and faster though a little slow on customer service

Kaskazi has a nice design

An important piece is that it’s easy to handle in rough water situations

T160 is a good choice
