My 3.5 year old’s wet shoes are drying in the bath, and every time I walk past them I can’t help thinking how sweet they are and how fast time goes. They are big for him (despite being the smallest available; got them for $35 at the LM surf store), and before I know it they’ll be too small. Life is short. Live it to the fullest

My youngest son will be attending college in Boston this fall. I just bought him a new pair of boots for clamming...size 13... Enjoy it while it lasts.

When my son was age 4 at pre-school, the teacher said that years 1-4 drag on forever, then 5-18 fly by when the kids get busy at school.  After that they are off in the world.  My son just graduated from college last week.  That teacher was so right!

Thanks for the post.  These are the good memories.

This is the real deal.  It goes very fast.  My girl just graduated from Cal and my boy just graduated from high school.  Whirlwind...

Yep, I've given away two sets of boots my daughter has outgrown so far. Thanks for reminding me to put up for sale the wetsuit that she outgrew before she got a chance to use it. Oh well, she's more into skateboarding now anyway.

From the title, I envisioned an armada of Hobies sailing/pedaling off into the sunset.

My older one is about to finish pharmacy school and my younger one is a freshman in college. It seems like they were in elementary school just yesterday.

The worst part is that I'm one of the senior guys at work---you know, the ones that all of the junior people make fun of (for good reason)...

Drink it up while it’s there

A couple of months ago my boy’s eye level was below mine and now I’m looking up at him, just passed the 6’ mark

A year and a half and he will be legal to drive himself to the dawn surf patrol and if I’m not up and ready to go at 4 a.m. ...

Not a math guy but I was impressed this morning by a verse that states to number my days that I may present a heart of wisdom.  The math I found goes like so, knowing that I am surely eligible to die even today...

I am 53, born on a Tuesday March 12,1968 in San Francisco.

Years alotted by by grace: 70
Years remaining: 17

Weeks alotted: 3540
Weeks remaining: 884

Days lived: 19,345
Days remaining: 6,188

Hours lived: 464,280
Hours remaining: 148,512
Hours misspent: ?
Weekly waking hours alotted: 119
Daily waking hours alotted: 17

I found a quote this morning that inspired and made life real, hope it transforms me.

“We have not enough time at our disposal to justify us misspending a single quarter of an hour.”

17 year 15 minute increments alotted less 7 hours of sleep per night:  420,784
Weekly: 476
Daily: 68

Just a reflection, looking at my life, to live well and wisely towards all facets that make up a whole life. :smt006

Great topic !! Miss my boys at home. They are all out of the house and leading there on lives.

One of my favorite pics of them.

My youngest josh looks as though he is telling his older brother with his eyes, " Do it, do it " !!!

Yes! Part of my present tasking is to organize all the photos and videos of the kids while they're around.  Hope you see em' some... :smt006

Look forward to it Eddie. My boys love seeing old pics of when they were very young and remember the events of the pic.  :smt001
