I hope he was able to catch some fish to eat while he was lost. But it appears that he's a lousy hiker, so he may also be a lousy angler.

I actually went on a day hike he led with a group of people in Yosemite back in 69. I was only 9 but I do remember that as we walked along he would bend down, pick something up like a stick, mushroom, moss... break little pieces off and pass them around for us to nibble on. He didn't have any Grape-nuts though.
