Hi all!

Lurked around here for a while, finally decided to go ahead a make a profile...

After living a few years by the bay to give myself some time to try and overcome my fear of sharks, I decided to give kayak fishing a shot. I got my first kayak early last year and made it a habit to go out as often as I could to build my paddling muscles and fishing patience. Now over a year later with some nice fish in the freezer and a few shark encounters behind me, I'm still fishing, so I'm guess I'm in it for the long haul now.

You'll catch me most weekends (and some weekday mornings) heading out of the Santa Cruz harbor in search of some quality butts, and I'm looking forward to the upcoming season to make full use my recent Old Town Salty purchase. Thanks for all the tips, y'all, and good luck to ya!

-Caleb

*Pic is of my PB 34 inch halibut. To this day, it haunts my dreams and I won't rest until I catch its bigger brother*

There are no fish in Santa Cruz.
Sharks are fish.
Ergo, there are no sharks in Santa Cruz.

In any case, welcome!

If you see some crazy old dude on a Hobie AI (trimaran sailing "kayak") trolling all over the place around Santa Cruz, that's me.
I don't like stuff that sucks.
