Hiya folks, I’m planning on trying out ARW for halibut next Sunday, 5/1. Let me know if you want to meet up. Or, if you have a better spot for halibut and want a buddy on the water, let me know. Bottom line, I’m going fishing.

I'm shooting for Saturday, looks marginally better. Both days it looks like outgoing to a big low and then a little bit of incoming before the wind kicks up by 1pm or 2pm.

Alright, looks like I'm headed out Sunday for KY first trip to ARW on my kayak. Hoping to be out early but we will see what time I can actually get out of bed. Hoping to be on the water by 630

I made it out today, a bit later than I hoped but was still on the water by 7. The first few hours were quiet, I did see some shakers being caught then at about 1130 the bite picked up....I ended up landing 4 halibut (first on my kayak) but they were all short... 1 might have been legal but I decided no to measure it and just keep fishing. I did meet up with John as he was wrestling a Leopard shark in his net. Talked to the game warden and he said he only saw 5 or 6 keepers. I did hear about 2 seal/sea lion attacks snagging someone's dinner and had one bump my kayak from below... still a great day and can't wait to get back out.

Thanks for the report. At least no skunk! Bites only going to get better as it warms up more!

I was there on Saturday 5/1 and got this 23" halibut.

Shortly after, I hooked one that was bigger but it came off right at the surface.

I ended up going for a few hours on Sunday on my little i9. Started with a herring and as people started catching shakers around 11:30 I decided to not miss out and switched to an anchovy and got a 16" shaker. Beautiful weather.
