08.12.07 - Forebay Lameness

My Dad and I decided to try to hit someplace nice and mellow Sunday so we loaded up and headed for the forebay. We hoped to get into a little LMB action and hopefully a few stripers. It was not to be. They have started up the weed whacker already and the water was crap. My dad got one to swirl around his firetiger rapala and we saw a few little bass sunning but could not get them to bite. I would avoid the forebay for a while until they are done cutting or we get some rain. Water level on the forebay was not bad but the main lake was super low.

wtf?  Is that a underwater weed wacker?  I think that weeds grow stronger and thicker if you just "top them".
      They need to get down to the roots and pull hard!   bet that would clear up the water faster

Yeha I am not sure why but every year they mow the forebay with that thing. It seemed like it was always later in the year though like around December cause when I fish there in the fall all the weeds are still there. Maybe since the water level is low they are getting started early???
