Hey everyone!

New to the site and I just wanted to introduce myself. I have been Kayak fishing a couple times and really enjoy it. Im running a wilderness system thresher 140 but not sure is I want to upgrade, I saw a ton of hobie's on the opener of rockfish out of Timber cove and they look a lot easier to operate then a non pedal kayak. Any info people can give me on fishing and kayaks would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome!

I made the transition from a paddle to a pedal kayak shortly after joining this forum.
All I can say is that it was a big expense and it was worth it IMO.

Hey DaD707, welcome to NCKA! I started with a pedal drive, and switched to a paddle kayak due to the weight. My current kayak weighs 50lbs and the pedal drives are around 100lbs...something to consider.

Hi DogandDive707,
I'm a noob here and just got myself a pedal Old Town PDL kayak.
- Cost: I must have spent at least 3k+ total (kayak + all the gears, rigs, and safety cold water clothing).
- Weight: my kayak weighs around 85lb + 20lb pedal drive.
+ having pedal, your hands are free most of they time to fish, and you'll be able to cover more water?
