Hi all,

I’m relatively new to kayak fishing.  I’ve been out in the ocean but generally fish lakes.  I’m looking for a guide that can show me some good areas along the sonoma coast.  I’m specifically interested in halibut/lingcod but also learning about where to launch fish and how to understand wind/ tide conditions in the area.  Any recommendations?

Cheers - Nick

I don't know about the Sanoma coast but a great intro to quality ocean kayak fishing technique would be Loleta Eric up here on the north coast (https://www.facebook.com/LoletaEric/). He is a fishy and knowledgeable dude that knows the water well.

Thanks, Max!

Kyle Monte with Kayak Fish Sonoma is a great guy for your area.

Come on up to Shelter Cove this summer if you're wanting a full day with all species in play.
I am a licensed guide.  DFW Guide ID:  1000124.   Let's do a trip together.

I can strongly recommend Loleta Eric.  Come up and fish the Cove with him.  You will learn so much that is transportable back to your area.  -- I first hired him for a trip in Humboldt back when I still lived in L.A. !!    (full disclosure -- I'm the other guy in the picture he posted.  Look at the variety on those clips!  Awesome day.)

Thank you for the recommendations!  I'll reach out to Kyle to start off with.  I'm sure i'll head up north sometimes so i'll look you up Eric. I love this sport/hobby/addicting way of life and it's always a pleasure to learn something new from those with experience.

Cheers- Nick.
