So I’ve been looking around for advice on how to troubleshoot noise from my 2019 Hobie Revo 16 Vantage seat.
It’s not squeaking. More like plastic hitting plastic. And it’s only noisy when I pedal. Took the kayak to the kayak store, but they didn’t hear any noise (??!!)
Came home and looked again. I think I found the problem. There’s a normal gap between the brackets and their bar that results in a “banging” noise. Put some electrical tape to narrow the gap.
Hopefully I’ll have peace next time.

I get noise like this on some of the more aggressive motorcycle boots I wear that have a lot of plastic armor around hinges.  In addition to your electrical tape, spray some furniture polish (like the original Pledge) in there, too.  The wax from the furniture polish will lubricate it from low pitched squeaks.  The carriers in the polish with help it get in there via capillary action.

Can confirm after a successful fishing trip that this fix worked!

Common enough to be called "the sidi squeak." Great boots, but obnoxiously squeaky.

Alpinestars and Dainese what I wore. Alpinestars were well worn and comfy w/ no squeak, but the Dainese squeaked. If I recall correctly, waxing actually may have done the trick/helped(Obenauf's).
The Dainese were recommended as lightweight and protective if flying head over heels.
