wow.
he'll probably need some serious antibiotics too, sharks and rays can cause major infections with their slime.
protip-don't wiggle fish around in front of the camera and instead actually be present in the moment and have even a tad of respect for the animal. SMDH at this...

I just had a friend get stung by a small stingray as he was exiting the water here in Baja. We inspected the wound and placed his foot in HOT water, as hot as he could stand. After about 10 minutes the pain subsided and we applied lidocaine to help.Next day, no pain or swelling. Just a tip!

My brother got hit on the back of his hand by a bat ray while I was watching him trying to gently release it, I believe the statement right before he got whacked was:

“It’s a Bat Ray, they don’t have barbs, right?  They let kids pet these at the Monterey Bay aquarium…”

…barb went in and out quick and man I’ve never seen an injury start to bleed that fast or as much.  He said the mild venom they have wasn’t pleasant either.

I thought the same thing. "MBA wouldn't mutilate fish just so kids could safely touch them would they? They must not have stingers."
