Beautiful fish ! I haven't been out on the river since late fall so I've  been wondering how it's been fishing. In the river or the sloughs ?

I was out in the sloughs on Saturday, I missed one fish but it was quite other than that. I had a few reports of some red hot sturgeon earlier in the week but it cooled off before the weekend came. Hoping to get out again soon.

Mind if I ask what sloughs you were out in ? I spent a lot of time in Napa/Devil's slough last fall. Boaters always seemed shocked to see a kayaker out there.

I was in napa 2 and hudgemans the launch at Skaggs is manageable at high tide but brutal at low tide because of the mud.

I haven't tried launching there yet, partially because it seems like it's always mud everywhere when I've gone out that way. Might have to give it a try next fall. Thanks for the heads up.

It is crazy muddy but cuts the trip out to devils slough almost in half. If you time the tides right it's nice and easy
