Hi everyone, I have to run up near Oroville for some afternoon business in a couple weeks and was thinking of taking my 9 yr old son with me.  If we leave early, we could get 3-4 hours of fishing in before.  Question is, where to go?? and what/how to target from shore??  Any suggestions for the best way to get the little man on a fish?

Hey Nolan

I live in the area.  One option is the Thermolito Afterbay.  Its free, lots of shore access but..... its too cold for panfish and bass I think at this time of year.  There are usually people bank fishing where the water flows in  off wilbur rd.  They target landlocked steelhead but I dont know if any have been caught recently.    Its ten minutes from town.   I have caught nice squawfish which are fun but not the best table fair.   Main lake Oroville in the other direction sometimes produces and there is some shore access near the dam. PM me.  Depending on your day I may be able to join you.  I have no first hand recent reports.
