DYI Down Rigger?

just a heads up west marine in rocklin has 1 scotty lake troller left on clearance for $59, it was also 20% off fishing clearance items when I bought mine also had a 4 lb cannon ball set up with rod holder on clearance for $11, but I grabbed the last one.

I just ordered one on amazon for $57.41 + tax. Cheaper than me driving to Rocklin.

I looked up the link and it shows $74.20 as the price. I guess the price changed, because I double checked and I only paid $57.41. Maybe there was a scotty sale that lowered the price at stores and amazon.

FYI- There is camelcamelcamel.com which allows you to track and receive email alerts when prices drop or come within your set price range on the amazon items.

Good to see the different views on this thread, I'm trying to decide on building or buying.  Mostly plan on using DR for lake fishing
