That's pretty insane footage - parents must've been freaking out on shore.  Good job, surfers - looks like a bad call, instructors.

I see them out there all the time, and they're not dressed for immersion in the way that we are. They get towed out and then towed back into the harbor. Really bad idea for them to be going out in those conditions...

" With a 25-foot swell off the coast and king tides in play, it’s mind-boggling that students were on the water to begin with.  "

?????

According to the sc yacht club website, $350 per student for a weekly lesson.  12 students = $4200.  Someone probably didn't want to leave 4g's on the table  :smt044

..also from their website:

"Sailing instruction with emphasis on safety and seamanship."

Oops

+1
These were "7-to-12-year-olds". I think the parents also made bad calls letting their kids out there in such conditions.

Those kids were probably freaking out.

According to one of the surfers who helped out:

“I was helping a little girl, and she started screaming, ‘I can’t breathe. I can’t breathe. Am I going to die? Am I going to die?’ She was petrified.”
