Hey guys.... I want to add flush mount pole holders to my old Fish n Dive. 1. Do you know who has these on sale? Is West Marine a good vendor?  Rivets or regular stainless bolts?

Insane Duane from his forum used to be a master at this stuff but I haven’t seen nor heard from him in a few....

Thanks for any 411 ...Red

I like Scotty flush mounts. Be sure to use a backer plate. I think you have to buy that separately. Use SS bolts if you can reach behind to hold the nuts and rivets if you can't.

I just added a Scotty flush mount rod holder on my kayak.  I used 1/4" stainless bolts, 1 1/4" long with fender washers and nylock nuts, sealed up with rtv silicon gasket. Definitely solid, and pretty easy to mount. A 1.5" hole saw makes a perfect sized hole for the big hole of a flush mount.

I bought from Amazon, $16 or so for the base and rod holder, did not come with screws. I think the Scotty branded base plate is like $7, or about $4 at the hardware store for stainless stuff like I did.
