Good morning all,
Looking to get my first surf launch in at Linda Mar this Saturday.  Anyone headed there and don't mind me tagging along? conditions are looking pretty calm as of now.

I have launched from there 1 time only and that was early in my surf launching experience. My advice is to avoid the south side of the beach where the houses are at and they have wooden structures for boat launching. When I launched it was calm but coming back in I saw surfers, and obviously the waves picked up. Not knowing any better I came back in that same area. Long story short, I endo'ed and almost became a casualty between my kayak and those wooden structures. Close call!

Is Rockaway a better starter spot?

Rockaway has always had bigger waves than Linda Mar and more undertow.
