i bought a couple of new fishing rods.  weeks ago.  they shipped reasonably on time, albiet on the slow side.  but MAN-o-MAN!  FedEx flat out blows!!  they were on a truck "out for delivery" last thursday.  the never tried to deliver, but kept moving the date back.   then no more notifications.  i called and they suggest i have them pull it off the truck and then pick it up at a FedEx store locations....err..okay.

whammo!  what box?  it went into limbo.  i whipped up a s-storm yesterday, and i think i am getting some movement. they told me, "our system shows it is in some storage box somewhere waiting to get back onto a truck to send to that store location".  wow..it was the longest sentence that provided zero info.  hahhahah..

my fish finder battery was lost for two weeks after they kept trying to deliver it to my office at 8:00pm or something.

i hate how many vendors use FedEx.  soul crushing.  :)

thanks for the vent.

Sorry to hear that. If it's any consolation I was expecting a big package yesterday from UPS. Saw the truck sitting in my driveway for a few minutes before it drove away... now the package is delayed. I wondered what happened. I've had good luck and bad luck with almost every delivery service, such is life

I mailed some motorcycle parts to a guy in Mississippi.  USPS.  Cost me $65 in postage. It took them 6 weeks to deliver it.  I could have hand carried/walked to Mississippi in that time.  BUT, at 4 weeks, I went down to the post office and I got a refund.  Maybe try that with FedEx.  Demand a refund and file an insurance claim against them.  Just because it's not 'lost', doesn't mean it's out of time.

still no delivery.  which isnt the worst part.  the worst part are the notices that say, "on truck for delivery by end of day"  twice i stayed at work waiting.  LATE!!  everyone going home, and me just sitting there doing busy work waiting for the knock on the office door.  only nothing..i check website and they had changed the status to " delivery date PENDING".

i'm still going to hit the delta fishing, with my two rods.  i wont punch fish since i wont have that set up, but i will keep fishing what i can.  my lure knot tying is getting faster swapping out lures. :)

last night they changed the status back to "delivery date PENDING" AGAIN!!  i give up.  faack em.

FedEx works closely with USPS, which has been intentionally slowed down and crippled with new "cost-cutting" measures.  No late deliveries and no overtime.

This is the result.

My Amazon deliveries have all been substantially slowed down too...some more than others.

Don't get me started on Amazon shipping.  I have a fairly large Pantry standing order with Amazon.  For the past 3 months, they have either missed shipping dates for at least a week, or outright cancelled the order.  This is not some convenience item I may or may not  need at the time, this is groceries.  If they can't ship, I have to make it up by going to the grocery store to fill my pantry.  An example is cat food.  It comes once a month 3rd Friday of the month.  They were 10 days late.  Had to buy a bag from the store, then it shows up.  Now I'm running cat food that gets stale before it hits the cat's bowl or I toss the excess old stock.  It's systemic throughout their entire inventory.  I own shares of Amazon and I'll be selling it.  Time to buy into Walmart.  Better shipping times and easy pick up at the store if I decided I need something quicker.  2 day Prime shipping is now just a joke, a theft of my membership!

Sounds like they don't know where your package is.  I had this issue when I was on a business trip in Seattle, waiting for my equipment.  They delivered all but 1 piece and it kept showing on truck for delivery for 3 days, until I demanded they pull it off the truck so I can pick it up.  They told me it would be at a certain UPS station.  I went over there and waited while they tried to find it, nowhere to be found, truck it was supposed to be on was emptied out, but nada.

You would figure if an item was supposedly on a truck and not being delivered each day, they would think something is wrong and look into it, but nope, they kept insisting it would be delivered each day without trying to contact driver and find out what is actually going on.

For what its worth, Fedex, UPS, USPS...all suck.   :smt005

We do a lot of shipping (anywhere from 6-12+ boxes per week) for my wife's business. All USPS. We send fragile packages all over the country and internationally with very few issues.

I agree, FedEx and UPS both blow. My solution is that I buy what I need from a local,  independently owned store in person. They need what little money I have way more than Amazon, TackleDirect, etc, etc.

Same goes for USPS vs the others. It's amazing how some for-profit companies can't seem to get it together....

File a claim as soon as they allow it. If the rods are expensive, chances are FedEx will magically "find" and deliver them. If not, they'll have to at least cover the declared value. The seller may have to file the claim since they shipped them.

Not that it helps any but if you are buying bass stuff use tacklewarehouse.com They are in San Luis Obispo. Ship orders over $50 free in CA and use Golden State Overnight for shipping. Takes a day or 2 at the most. I’ve ordered several rods from them as well as a lot of other stuff.

Oh, and I wasted my day yesterday for a shipment to arrive via FedEx freight (outdoor furniture) that needed a signature. They called me around 445 and said that they “couldn’t get to it” and would try again on Monday.  :smt011

No one is as bad as Ontrac. One time I called and asked about a missed delivery and they straight up told me "we're sorry but our driver lost the truck".

One time Ontrac tried to deliver my package to a similar address in Alameda... when I live in SF.  The driver wound up calling me and saying he was standing at my side gate.  I had to explain that I live in a 5 story apartment building and there was no gate.  I started to pick up on the fact that he was in the 'burbs and asked what town he was in.  "Alameda!"  "Read the address label."  "Oh, shit.  I don't think I can get over there tonight."  "Yeah, no shit."

Let me close this thread. I got an email stating I would get my stuff on the 12th.  I figured eff-it. Relax.  Have a beer.

Then I got another email a few moments later.  “Pickup is ready”.  WTF?  I called and they told me nothing was there for me.  I drove by in my way home.  I walk up and ask. I say. “It’s an eight foot long tube”. Hey, it’s here!

I got them!  It gets funnier:  I hate one of the rods I bought for PUNCHING weed mats for bass.   The handle is very thin.  Gripping it sucks.   My spinning rod feels way stiffer than “medium”.   It’s okay at best.   Crap.

You Know That we are all being herded into 3 to 5 companies for everything. Stocks. Well herded again. Like Fang stocks a few have all the market share.  There is a article called Big companies are starting to swallow the world in the Contra costa times.  Good read. Amazon pays no taxes and gets your roads for free. I see the vans up to 10 times a day on my block.  No masks 70 percent of the time to. I love there ads how they care and are safe. Herded again? Look at all your stores in your town boarded up and closed. Herded again. Some say competition. But Really. 4 or 5 main players.  It gets boring to hear the bragging and chest pounding on channel 58 with Kramer and the like .  4 or 5 companies Really? Then there is the reality of to hire bodies to do this MEGA culture of Push a button buy and wait. Then get the run around. Why because they can. A lot of these companies pay no taxes and get all the benefits of your Jonny Lunch box taxes we provide. Oakley has a new distribution center for Amazon and I bet our city council gave many concessions to them. God knows Amazon needs them. They say jobs. Yes but will they pay to fix my roads there massive army of trucks will put wear on? I miss my Tackle stores that you sat and had coffee and a donut as they repaired reels and shared stories and got the hot scoop non internet. Next time you order a reel suggest they give a donut and coffee. Lol

I am happy I have never bought a thing from Amazon in my life.  Bought a new vacume cleaner from a small local shop and it was 15.00 more. But I have service from the guy to fix it when it needs to be fixed. Or as of yet don't have a Smart phone yet.  Apple Hoopla NEW ONE COMMING bust out another 1000 +. Geez first camaro was 2600.00 cash new in 76.  Phone  Car. Lol  But then again I am an old fart that worked on party boats in the 70`s when we went by compass , Time, and a graph fish finder to find rock piles 60 miles offshore with no GPS. Geez we caught fish. And a lot of them.  Well that's my rant for now.
