Hey all, I am not looking for honey holes or anything but I have only targeted crabs from Half Moon Bay and I am wondering where from there I can go to target rockfish and lingcod. What distance or heading do I paddle to find rocks or a reef at? Is it worth trolling for chrome on my way there? Does anyone know if there’s been bait in the water at HMB?
Thanks in advance,
Jason/recon

I’m sure this has been talked about before but I’m pretty bad at using the search on this site.

The reef is to the right of the red buoy.   You can catch RFs by the buoy.

Another member posted this below.  I dont fish in the area but this seems to provide a good map of what you are looking for.  I am sure a search of the forum will give you plenty of ideas of where to go and what to fish for in HMB.  Good luck out there and stay safe.

Thanks for sharing! Here's another tool I frequently use (similar to Navionics). In addition to depth, it also gives you the makeup of the ocean floor.

For rockfishing I use the Navionics app to find rocky structure.  As mentioned above there is a good reef south of red bouy, and there is also decent reef near the first green bouy.  There is also King's Rock which is about halfway between the jaws and green bouy, but I would only fish King's Rock on the calmest of days
