Glad to join you all. I've been Yak fishing for a few years now, mostly trial and error: HMB, Alameda, Bolinas, Anchor Bay. Looking forward to assistance with the learning curve. Just got my first peddle drive kayak (albeit an OLD one). Thanks to CCK for outfitting it.Took it to Bolinas on Tuesday and bagged a 34" salmon. I have many questions on techniques and tactics and your forums are a wealth of info. Ist question I'll be looking to ask... tips on coming in on the surf. I had a miraculous dig out on Tuesday, but it was a close one. I think "kayakfishingwithmat" got it on video. I live in Alameda and so have a quick drop in for halibut and tooling the kids around. By the way, caught a 29" salmon at the estuary a couple weeks ago! Luck and safe travels to you all.

Hey J929rider, welcome to NCKA! If you want to do surf launches the best thing you can do is to take a surf zone class. Here is a write up I did when I was first starting out:

Mark, thanks for that link. I have been kayak fishing in all types of water, but the re entry in surf zone is still dicey. I look forward to the class. This kind of info is why I joined.
