Do the fins simply act like a higher gear on a bike where you pedal harder to go faster? I'm finding dragging a 4lb ball gets tiring with the standard MD180 ST fins after a long while. I kind of doubt you get more efficiency from the turbo fins, but I could be wrong. Can anyone tell me if by chance they do?

Switch over to turbo fins, i've using them on all my Hobie's since 2009. I pulled a yaker and his water filled kayak for over an hour.  The turbo fins made it easier.  Its going to make your 4 lb ball feel lighter.  Changing to spectra instead of wire cable will help too.

I don't have the 180 drive, but I do have turbo fins on both of my GT drives. Turbo fins are an absolute must-have. They should be standard equipment, IMHO...
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

What?!  And reduce their SKU count to streamline pricing for the consumer?  nonsense  :smt002

If you have any notion of trolling long distances, you MUST upgrade to turbo fins and the sailing rudder.  time to shell out, but yes, it'll totally b worth it
