HMB 9-2-2020 rpt

Hit up hmb with gtnotte and tommytwofish this evening from 2 till dusk.  Trolled  9.5 miles for no salmon.  Not even a credible bite.  Most of the signs were there.  Good bait, lots of birds, dolphins, seals, but I didn't see any whales.  Caught about 5 blacks, all released.  Also a few croakers.  Fished krippled anchovies the entire time, with and without flasher.  Ranged from 25 to 50 ft otw.  We explored from the inside cans, out towards the pp buoy, then towards Mavericks, in all, about 10 miles of ground covered, some of the time spent circling bait clouds.  Conditions were marvelous, long period small swell with little wind.  The clouds came in around 5:30 and it got really nice.  Gotta love evening sessions.

Sounds like time well spent.

Sometimes that gets lost in the mix of fishing, but it has to come through as the main point of going if you're doing it right, IMO.

Thanks for the intel. Sounds like a magical time at HMB. Most of the time when I’m there the wind comes up early and hard. Looking forward to hearing about fish caught up that way. I’m ready to give it a go.
