Toasted after two long days at the Cove. Scratch bite kicked out one more salmon, and my hands are sore from bleeding and filleting cod and pulling on leaders.

Dave and Dylan joined me Monday on glassy water, but the bite wasn't hot for us.  Lingcod have been hard to come by lately even for the charter boats, but plenty of blacks around.  A few salmon were caught along with some nicer cali's, but we settled for sacks of cod.  It was Dylan's first run offshore on the yaks, and he did great.  Dave has been getting some miles logged with me and had the hot stick.

On Tuesday Don from Navarro joined me on choppy water with overcast skies and a bit of drizzle - every day's different out there.  We mooched for salmon without a bite from even a rockfish for quite a while before getting cleaned up by a thresher - took $20 worth of gear early and more late, but that's fishing.  Don wanted to get at least some white meat for take home, so we cruised to the Whistle where we whomped on the cod for an hour before heading back inside.  A couple of salmon showed for one of the powerboats at the Bell, so we tried to find one there but it was getting toward the end of our session.  Wouldn't you know it, we found one on our way in - that always works to keep you out there another hour!

Long days - great daze.   :smt005

Can't wait to go back.   :smt001
