Went out of crapitola around 7 am determined to get a halibut.  Sabiki yielded some perfect small mackerel, sardines and kingfish.  Didnt get any anchovies though.  Drifted and bottom bounced on a sliding rig.

Fished by pleasure point, in the kelp, inside the kelp, swung over towards New Brighton, by the reef, in near the kelp, in the kelp etc.  Had only one really good take down, had it on for a minute or so, and on the dive to the bottom, came loose.  Bait shredded but intact, trailing treble still there.

short drive, nice weather, great bait, bikinis on landing but no fish.  Will try again in SC tommorrow as after that I will be off the water for a bit.

the fishing was not good for me, but I am copying an old post where the guy complained about how crappy fishing was in the crapitola kelp.

of course with the fecal bacteria count always high at the beach, maybe its a fair name!
