Hi Folks,

I visit my Daughter regularly in the Sacramento area and we fish all the foothill reservoirs and lakes. We generally troll crankbaits or throw spinnerbaits but I like to drift live minnows as well. Can I get some advice on where to buy live minnows in the northern Sac/Folsom/Citrus Heights area?

Thanks!

Kenny

Which lakes are legal / illegal to use minnows in? I don't know the list but I know there are restrictions.

In the past I've gotten minnows at penny's bait around the corner from the port of Sacramento launch.

There are two bait shops in South Sacramento on Freeport blvd.  Freeport bait and tackle, Romeo's bait.  Both are within a couple blocks of each other on Freeport blvd, just south of Cosumnes blvd.  Both carry minnows.
