I am planning on fishing Bean on Friday 7/27. The long range forecast has the SW and NW swell on the decline and should present some fairly calm water out there. Am also open to venturing to other spots from Carmel north to Bean to fish if you are putting together any trips on this day. Mike

Its still early to say but from what I can see, I think that the conditions for Friday look pretty hairy at least for me. The Bean can be very unforgiving in a mixed swell weekend (5-7ft and 2-3ft SW).

That sounds the same to me, I must have misread the surf report I was looking at. With the recent attack up there I am going to change course and head south to more favorable fishing grounds in the monterey area. It looks like Frankfish and possibly a couple of other guys are joining in for this, if you want to come along you are more than welcome. We'll do some advance recon for the contest in August. :smt066

Yeah, I was out in slightly larger mixed swells there a coupla weeks ago.  They  have some sort of geometric effect, making mini-mountain-peaks that come from all sides and make trying to fish a pain in the a$$, let alone unsafe.

I already told Bill/rockaway shortly after I landed early last Saturday that I was taking next weekend off, but I have always wanted to fish the Monterey area, and if Frank is going, along with others who know the spots, that sounds like a good plan to me...  So I might be in, though prolly a later start if i go.   I'll find those hookup details and watch conditions.

Sounds good, we'll be on channel 69, and hopefully you don't drive a red hobie kayak :smt106
