Hello! I'm a sailor in San Francisco and often fish from the sailboat. This season's been off to a pretty good start with 2 keepers so far! I've been lurking on the kayak forums and contemplating getting one--I grew up on the East Coast with ocean kayaks, but haven't paddled in a while. Excited to learn more of your ways.

Welcome Zablaine! What kind of boat do you sail? I used to have an Island Packet 380 that we kept docked in Alameda.
Do you do any coastal sailing?

Welcome. I'd like to hear more about your sail-fishing...

Welcome.  I mostly sailed before getting a kayak, so it felt more natural to get one with a rudder, though with enough practice, I would probably would have adapted to one without.  Of course, if you get a peddle kayak*, the decision has been made for you.   I don't think I ever fished from a sailboat except when anchored.

Hey, same here, just getting started with kayaks, but been sailing for a while. What boat do you have / use? Where do you sail out of? I'm with OCSC in Berkeley, don't have my own boat.
