My kayak cart webbing somehow snapped in half this weekend. Has anyone experience this failure? I've search Amazon, Ebay, and wheelez.com but couldn't fine any webbing replacement for sale. I will be calling wheelez to see if they carry any. Just curious if anyone had any simple hack/replacement.

Thank you!

I recently had my wheelez frame fall off my kayak so had to order a replacement.  They were out of the strap you are talking about but did have a longer one and I just cut it and tied it up shorter. I think it will hold just fine.  Maybe a sewing machine could stitch it better but I don’t know much about sewing.

Maybe another option would be to check with my local ma/pa tailor shop if they can sew me one. I have lots of webbing laying around just no industrial quality sewing machine to do the job i'd like. Thanks bdon.  :smt006

In a pinch, you could probably use climbers webbing from Rei. Tie the loose ends together in a water knot at approximately the right distance to match the span of the original.

They sell it by the foot, and stores should be open for curbside pickup.

Do you have an old gym bag that you can take the shoulder sling from?  Then get one of these sewing awls:

https://www.amazon.com/Speedy-Stitcher-SEW120-BRK-Sewing-Awl/dp/B000FXT814/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3DDTZP7ZIWH8X&dchild=1&keywords=sewing+awl+kit+-+speedy+stitcher&qid=1589814967&sprefix=sewing+awl%2Caps%2C235&sr=8-3

I use it to repair all sorts of things.  And it's really simple to use.
In a pinch, even a short rope should work - it just keeps the legs at the right distance apart, can't be much strain on it.

I've replaced mine several times over the years.
I used a finish nail, heated with a propane torch, to melt the sewing holes in the strap. I then hand sewed it with a large upholstery needle (these have large eyes that can accommodate heavy thread). I used a waxed nylon thread I had for sewing knife sheaths, but you could totally use some pieces from the core of some #500 paracord.
I clamped the strap ends with a small vise grip while I was working on them.
