Hi Everyone,
My name is Andre and excited to find this group. Been in the Bay most of my life and have been really enjoying learning as much as possible fishing solo the past few months. Took a few recreational kayak trips with the family and had a blast, so why not combine the two?

I started off with 1 trip in my Lifetime Tamarack out of Martinez and got tossed and nearly puked. Lesson learned; that rig is for the delta and reservoirs.

The next day, I was picking up a Hobie Pro Angler project and working on it every spare minute, much to the delight of my loving spouse. 😅
Ive named it Skunkworks. It floats and Im ready to get out there and get to bizness!

Anyways, im eager to learn and share (DIY projects, restoration, lessons learned, jokes, snyde remarks) and hoping to meet a few folks to join out there for safety and to swap tales.

This one is for the fellow freshmen kayakers
Heres some lessons learned:
-Pack light. Hella light. You wont need half the shit you think you do and less is always best. Dont skimp on “safety” though.
Check out that overloaded Walmart anchor right there! I burned more calories lugging it back to the car than out on the water and didnt need most of it.

-Dont go anywhere near any big water until you learn some basic etiquette. http://www.connyak.org/Public%20Affairs/Paddlers_Etiquette.html
-Motion sickness is real. Take Dramamine and be ready to rock.

Hi Andre, When I first looked at your pictures I was wondering where you would sit with all of that stuff. I started out light but I keep adding more things all the time. Welcome to NCKA.
