Closing one fishery and keeping others open is bullshit. Totally blows up their own arguement that it's for public safety.

It’s not for public safety.  It’s to maximize opportunity.  NMFS initiated this, not DFW.

"common flu...ebola...cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes..."

Name one other malady where significant numbers of the health care workers have died during the response to it.

"They already were prior to the virus" - referring to medical systems being overloaded.

Name one place where the medical system was overloaded prior to the virus like we're seeing now - emergency hospitals being setup as we speak...

Maybe it's time to watch the news.  You love facts, right?  Get some.

Politics aside,
The shelter-in-place order specifically says outdoor recreation is encouraged as long as it is within your local area .....
Hate to say it, but NCKA has put me in a bad situation.
If I go, I'm encouraging others, if I don't, I'm depressed
What would you do if this is your front yard?

No judgments either way on my part , but why bring it up ?

More than likely it will just stir the pot again .

Let your conscience be your guide. Nobody really needs to know your business .

If I have to sneak about to do it , do I take advantage of where  I live and proximity. Or do I follow SIP

Personally if the access to the beach and or launch is open  ,  why not go ?

But I`d also keep in mind if I need help , those coming to assist me risk possible exposure ( if I`m carrying it as are they ) as would  I.

Also if I remember correctly you have been writing to keep away from Shelter Cove.

On the other hand you are local.

Would I be engaged in do as I say but not as I do ?

Depression over not being able to fish ? Funny it seems all us  rugged individualist cant handle a little chunk of our time being idle ,considering the grand scheme of things ..who`s really rugged now ? Rhetorical question dont answer LOL

Any excuse is a good excuse when a person wants or does not want to do something .

Tough Choice.

Whatever you choose be safe

Finally.. some common sense  and the best answer of the week

The first case in the US was reported on January 20, 2020 in the State of Washington.  (10 weeks ago)

Today's numbers from the CDC are 214,482 case and 5,094 deaths in the US.

So I agree, it is not spreading like a wildfire.
Healthcare professionals are literally using the fire analogy to describe whatÂ’s going on in this country right now. The media is simply listening and reporting what they hear from healthcare professionals (i.e. doing their jobs).

See quote from Ray Yip in the Associated Press article linked below. Ray is a friend of the family - he worked with my (now deceased) father in law at the CDC. When he speaks about this type of matter, I trust what he says.

My point was that it is spreading faster than a wildfire.  This is a world wide pandemic and anyone that wants to minimize this today is definitely not paying attention to reality (this is a general statement mot pointed at anyone in particular.   :smt002)

Err on the side of caution.  PFD?  Flag on the yak?  Radidio? hell sharksheild.  Farmer John?  Buddy system?

What would our patriarch Joel say?

I bet he'd say don't be an idiot and play by the rules.

Also how many wardens want to leave their homes to check on some yo-yo sticking his dick in the wind?

Those soldiers live danger.
