So I was given a HawkEye fishtrax fish finder and I'm wondering if any of you have had experience with this unit. I have a Vibe Seaghost 130 that has an area for transducers in the hull. The problem is that some reviews of the fish finder say that it's not meant for saltwater, which is normally where I fish. Also, the manual has some odd instructions for using the transducer with a kayak or boat like putting it in a plastic bag with water or covering it with petroleum jelly. Is this worth fooling around with or should I get another fish finder that's meant to be placed in the transducer area of my kayak? Thanks!!!
