This doesn’t feel like politics anymore - it feels more like a knife in the back - so I posted it under the ‘general’ tab:

Bummer....again and again. My view? All done for the short term benefit of our economy....brutal on the long term welfare of our environment.
Please listen AND watch what our leader is doing.  Use critical thinking. Look at the long picture. Thank you for posting, Ron

curious to know if California regulations for clean water will buffer the impact.  I know next to nothing on the subject.  But then again, this will most likely get reset back to where it was once a new President takes the office.  (2 to 6 years from know)

In California, 2 out of 3 of the state’s freshwater streams could lose federal protection.

Yet the state is better positioned than others to weather the changes. Waters that lose protection under the Trump rule will still be covered under California law. And state regulators have strengthened protections for wetlands and streams in anticipation of the federal rollback.

Most states don’t have nearly enough money or environmental expertise to fill the void created by vastly scaled-down federal regulations.

Really hate to get into this and don't think should be on this board but.
Please understand the issue. The Obama law took over ALL WATER in country
A major over reach of law
Need to read all the problems with Obama law to understand why it was over turned.

No the over turning will not hurt fishing in any way
I for one am glad it was over turned

Lets all go fishing

Sad day for our clean water rule.  Our streams, rivers, bays have been screwed up by dams and aqueducts diverting water flows that continue to mess up native fish in California. If we continue to add pollution to our waterways that have already decimated fish populations, we'll get to a point where what ever fish you happen to catch you can't eat or need to release to keep fish stock up.

With this administration , it's all about money.

There's unfortunately a huge misconception in what you're saying as well though. While this isn't universally the "sky is falling" event that some are making it out to be, this isn't as simple as saying that something was merely "overturned" either. If you read the legislation in both the Obama-era bill and the recent Navigable Waters Protection Rule, the mistitled "roll back" goes well beyond the standards that Obama put in place. This action repeals some standards that have been in place since the 1970's.

In CA, we're lucky, and I'll use that terms in quotation marks. Our state water regulations are far more strict than the federal standards. Even more so than the new Navigable Waters Protection Act so the changes we actually see take place could likely be very limited. Other states, however, will be forced to quickly enact new legislation to take up the slack formed by this change.

I'll agree with your last line for sure though. Tight lines.
