Conditions:
Weather - 55 degrees, bluebird skies
Water temp - 53 degrees
Location - Sherman island (Antioch marina launch)
Water clarity - dirty
Baits used - spoon / chatter bait

Fished from 11-4pm. Weather was beautiful but only got 1 bite and 0 fish. Jigged with a spoon in around 30 ft of water where I saw schools of small fish, and threw around a chatter bait in the Sherman island shallow sloughs and flats. Finally got one bite in one of the shallow lakes but that’s it.

Man, what am I doing wrong? How do I find these stripers? Been unsuccessful in the delta pretty much every time.

San Joaquin side lately. Cleaner water but it is hit or miss on small males. Live bait has been outfishing eveything else.

Just saw your post and I was out there fly fishing from my kayak on the 27th. I hooked into two stripers right at high tide that day (noonish) 19 & 24inch. I was almost about to give up after fishing 4 hours in the AM. I noticed that day had very little water flow. I had launched from Sherman Island Boat Launch.

I had also fished on the 30th with my cousin in his boat. I hooked into 3 smaller stripers that day all of which were at the bends of the levees. So they are out there to some degree
