The short version?...It was a bust.
We got there a bit late and didn't make it onto the water until 6:40.  We then joyfully began paddling out to some likely salmon areas 2.7 miles from our launch point, only to be stopped by fog pouring in and limiting visibility to less than 100 yards at times.  It was 3 hours before it finally broke.  A hurried paddle out found some fish and small bait schools but we connected with nothing.
The good part of the day was that we got to meet Pete and Kim who were braver than us and paddled out into the soup in search of silvery prey.
Pat and Randy...eagerly awaiting July 1!

Hey Pat,

Is lover's Point a beach launch?

Lover's Point is a manmade cove.  The beach launch is totally protected.  It's super pleasant.

Lover's Point isn't always easy-- on a big NW swell, it's surfed! My dad lives a block away, and when I talked to him tonight, he said he watched surfers in there just a week ago-- 8' curlers! When stuff is out of the S-SW, it's pretty well protected.

Yeah.  Lover's Point does have a nice point break if the swell is right, as it is now.  But, so far, I've always found flat water around it.  Unlike Coral St beach which I was forced to surf land once.  I managed but not my favorite.
